With the advent of medieval age, Literature of the period also changed. It became more religious in tone and sought to awaken the deep feelings of morality within people. Saints like Kabir, Tukaram and meerabai wrote verses that touched the human heart and have become a part of our rich tradition. Their compositions are sung even today. Tulsidas wrote Ramcharitmanas which is a sacred Hindu text and held in reverence by Hindus the world over. It touches all aspects of human life and tells us how to conduct ourselves in various situations. It is read even today and revered for its knowledge and comprehensiveness. This age produced literature that was to become milestone in the history of Indian Literature. Jaydev`s Geet Govind is a text based on which the Odissi dance form is based. Down South , The Sangam literature was the most important development that revolutionized south Indian literature and is still considered to be the golden period of Tamil Literature.
